Out with the old and in with 2024

Dwight Yoakam Live at River Spirit Casino in Tulsa, OK.

I used to get more nostalgic than I do know when it was time to go out with the old and in with the new each year. This year has been extremely busy with a lot of things happening behind the scenes. I know I have alluded to some things in the past as far as the songwriting, etc., but I hope to have some more concrete new soon that I can share with everyone.

We saw some fantastic shows this year including John Fogerty (who finally got his publishing back, Dwight Yoakam, James McMurtry, Larry Campbell and Teresa Williams, Samantha Fish and Jesse Dayton, ZZ Top, and of course all of our friends on the Outlaw Country Cruise, which had a highlight of having John Anderson on it this year.

There were also some fantastic releases. I don’t have a lot of time in writing this, but the Bob Dylan box set “Live at Budokan,” “Hackney Diamonds” by the Rolling Stones, “Transit Damage” by Shinyribs, “Live at Dees” by Shannon McNally, and Shooter Jennings “And the Werewolves of Los Angels do Zevon,” were some of the highlights for me.

2024 looks to be an even bigger year with lots of music and writing. I’m hoping to get back out on the road and do some limited dates along with releasing more information about a recording I have been working on. I hope that each of you have a wonderful 2024. I can’t wait to see everyone again soon. I hope that as you go out with the old and in with the new that you will achieve all your dreams. I did lose some folks that were close to me this year, so I’ll go ahead and say that if you ever feel down or need someone to talk to, feel free to reach out to me here on the site. I will be glad to talk to anyone and let you know that you are loved and have value.

Happy 2024 to all!
